Iceborne Augments for rarity 12 health 7 -tempered trancehide (tempered namielle guiding lands) 5 -charged deathly shocker (Zinogre guiding lands) 3 -elder spiritvein bone (tempered elder guiding lands) 1 guiding coral dragonbone (highest tier coral guiding lands bone). Augments in Iceborne are different to world in that, rather than getting 1, 2 or 3 augments depending on rarity, weapons now have a number of 'slots' to fit augments in, based again on weapon rarity. In addition, each augment is weighed differently, depending on perceived usefulness; Attack Boost, Health Regen and Slot Upgrades cost 3 Augment Slots. 4th Defense Augment takes 2 sockets and provides 15 extra defense along with a% chance to lessen damage taken (Decoration) Slot. 1st (Decoration) Slot Augment takes 3 sockets and provides 1 level 1 Decoration slot. 2nd (Decoration) Slot Augment takes 3 sockets and upgrades the previous level 1 Decoration slot into a level 2 Decoration slot.

Fully upgraded weapons and armors can be augmented to further enhance their power. Augmentations require rare monster materials and Streamstones. Streamstones can be obtained by completing Tempered Investigation.

Tempered Investigation quests are randomly awarded when the player gathered tracks from tempered monsters.

Tempered Investigation Reward

Completing tempered investigations reward the player with various streamstones and feystones. Streamstones are used for augmentations, feystones can be appraised and yield decorations.

Streamstone shard, streamstone, and gleaming streamstone are used as:

• Key ingredient for Melding Pot
• Primary ingredient for Armor Augmentation
• Secondary ingredient for Weapon Augmentation

Sullied Streamstone and Shining Streamstone will be appraised and identified as Warrior's streamstone and Hero's streamstone. Warrior's streamstone and Hero's streamstone are the primary ingredient for weapon augmentation.

Weapon Augmentation

Fully upgraded weapons can be augmented to further enhance their capability. The following augmentations can be added to weapons:

Health Regen	Regain health as you land attacks. Stack with other upgrades to increase the amount of health regained

Weapon augmentations can be overwrite; however, materials used for previous augmentation will not be returned. Weapons of different rarity requires different materials to add augmentations:

What Is Augmenting Equipment?

Upgrading Weapons & Armor to Full Potential

Augmenting is a form of upgrade that allows you to further upgrade weapons & armor past their limits, further improving their stats.

Weapon Augments Adds Stat Boosts & Other Bonuses

For Weapon Augments, you can choose to boost stats such as Attack, Affinity & Defense or add an extra slot to the weapon. You can also add a Health Regen stat to your weapon.

Augmenting Armor Allows You To Upgrade More

Augmenting Armor removes the upgrade level cap, increasing the number of times you can upgrade the armor. This allows you to raise the defense stat past its default cap.

How To Unlock Equipment Augmentation

How To Unlock Augmentation Procedure

No.	Procedure
1	Reach Hunter Rank (HR) 30 to unlock encounters with Tempered Monsters.
2	Collect Tempered Monster traces, defeat Tempered Monsters and obtain a 'Streamstone'
3	Talk to the Smithy which will trigger a dialogue to unlock 'Augment Equipment'

Raise Your HR to At Least Level 30

Raising your HR to level 30 will unlock encounters with Tempered Monsters. The required item 'Streamstones' can only be found from Tempered Monsters.

How To Raise Hunter Rank After Story

Hunt & Defeat a Threat Level 2-3 Tempered Monster

After raising your HR, launch a Tempered Investigation quest to hunt a monster with at least Threat Level 2. Streamstones will only drop from these types of monsters, & will be appraised to a 'Warrior Streamstone' or 'Hero Streamstone' after completing the quest.
